A new perspective on time…
Something hit me smack between the eyes today, I saw something I hadn’t really considered before.
Like most people, I struggle to keep my ‘quiet time’ scheduled as part of a routine. Yet…how many of us find it hard to keep our breakfast time, or our shower time, or our work time? We do those things because we are accustomed to them.ÂÂ
Do we find eating more important than quiet time with God?
hmmm. We somehow find time for that (at least) three times a day…
Do we find our appearance more important than quiet time with God?
hmmm…We don’t usually leave the house without brushing our hair, or our teeth.
Do we find the income that comes from our work-day more important than our quiet time with God?
hmmmm….we pretty much show up for work when scheduled…
Yes…going down this path could brand me as a fanatic, but I guess I am going to have to be OK with that. Anything, any ONE thing that I put in a more important place than God in my life, has to be examined.   How would I feel being second place to some of those things? If it would bother me, how much must it bother Him who gave me life…?
Of course, all of those other things are important…we need to do them. But we don’t need to do them MORE than we need to take our time with God and His Word.
Look at Phil 3 - Paul obviously went through the same struggle….

Lord, what needs to move in my schedule, or change in my thinking to protect that time with you?

I love this….probably because I have wanted to say the same stuff….you know I had it SAID to me and hated it but the people who said it…I THANK THEM NOW….

Truth.
Delebrate constistent time with God will become a natural part of our day, if we let it.
I may be odd but I forget to eat breakfast more than I remember to eat it.

I found you! Whew!
First of all, thank you for visiting my place, A Chelsea Morning. And to answer your question about a fifth of vodka which is part of the recipe I posted for homemade kahlua, a fifth is the size of the bottle of vodka. I’m pretty sure it’s called a fifth because it’s one fifth of a gallon. Anyway, to make the kahlua all you need to do is go to a liquor store and ask for a fifth of fairly decent vodka.
About this post. My goodness, quiet time sometimes seems impossible to find. But I always, always find time for quiet time with God when I go to bed at night. No matter how crazy or busy my day was, I have the time I know I need for my Father. Every night.
This is a very special post and a great “slow down and remember Who you should be spending time with” post. Thank you.
